Sock Porn

So, I've been holding out on ya'll and I'm sorry. I've been hiding this away from prying eyes. That's Aquamelon, Meteor, Neapolitan, and Strange Little Mama.

Soon to join their ranks will be Love Stinks (yeah yeah). I can't wait for that to get here. :)

I think I will be packing one of these to take with me on vacation. I'll also be bringing my Swap Sock I'm knitting for the Knittyboard sock swap.

I've sort of set this one aside this week, and I feel guilty about it. So it's going back in my bag to work on my lunch hour again. The pattern is from Nancy Bush's book "Knitting Vintage Socks". It is the "Fancy Silk Sock". It's not silk but it sure is fancy. The yarn is from Scout's Swag and the color is Puesta del Sol.

I've been seriously working on my Sweater Babe pattern. I've got half a sleeve to go, then I just have to sew it up! :) The only issue is finding buttons. I'd like white ones, but I'm not sure I can find decent white buttons that big. I'd even be okay with those shell type buttons. I just don't want dark wood or leather ones. Well, I've got to run some errands today, so I may swing by the craft stores to see what I can find.

Thursday, June 21

So. Excited.

So my hubby and I have both been in a weird funk lately. Especially we got some rather... disappointing news. So, we decided to go on a mini vacation. Just us and the dogs. We were thinking about going to the Black Hills, but that 9 hour car ride with 3 days to go would have killed us. So, we're going to his Mother's cabin in Brainerd. Not exciting, but quite. And the dogs can swim. I'm so freaking excited I can't even tell you. I've got next Friday off, and away we go. I'm currently picking out knitting things to pack. woo!

Wednesday, June 20

So I'm knitting. Really I am.
Pretty, no?

But I have been doing alot of this lately.
Taking the puppies for walks. So many walks. I wish I had a fenced in yard some days. :)

Oh F*ck! I just realized I missed Amy Singer. Dude. That totally sucks. :(

Sunday, June 10

KIP

Did you?

I remembered this year!

It went something like this.

Him: You're knitting?
Me: Yes. Of course. I have to. It's knit in public day. If I don't they will throw me out of the cult.
Him: Oh.

We were at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs for his grandmothers birthday. And I knit after I got bored with gambling. And if you're ever there, eat the "Seafood Tower". I'm just saying.

Wednesday, June 6

Go now.

And vote for my Husband's Comic. He's made it to round 2! I'm sure you all love Prince Valiant, what with the sexy haircut and all... but Hulk vs Bizarro is better!

That is all.

Tuesday, June 5

Meh.

There has been knitting. But not alot.

I frogged Rhiannon because it was one. size. too. big. FRICK!

I cast on my second pink/yellow sock and have finished the inch and one half of ribbing.

I've been working on some baby booties to go with the conception sweater. If I get my butt in gear they could be done tonight.

So yeah. No exciting pictures of knitting. I'll leave you with photos of my dogs.

Sunday, May 27

Stuff my Dog ate.

File this under... "stuff my dog stole off the island and ate."

A sweet potato.

And some knitting. Note the monkey and quarter for scale. :)
I don't know if you can see the cables. My monitor is crap. On the camera I could see it. But not here. Oh well. There are cables on it. Really. There are.

Oh, And As for the knitting issue I had, I decided to dig out my hubby's socks and finish them. I think they're about the same size now, all I need to do is split the ball in half and knit until I run out of yarn. :)

Friday, May 25

Knitting Conundrum

So. I have a issue. I like to knit on my lunch break, but bringing Rhiannon back and forth is beginning to make me nervous. Plus, I only get like... one row done. What to do!!?? Do I finish up my second sock in the Lorna laces sassy stripe? Do I start up a new sock in the Vesper I just got? Try that potumus sock finally? Argh!!!

I think I should maybe finish up the second sock, but I only have 1 pair of size one needles, and Rhiannon currently on that. Poop. So maybe I better go dig and see if I can find some size 2. Then at least I could start something else. Something easier. For at lunch time.

Wednesday, May 23

Not related to knitting.

As some of you may know, I'm married to a freaking genius. (He's my husband. I can call him what I want.)

Anyway. He's been working on this little online comic, and some folks liked it and voted for him to be in a... I don't know what you'd call it. A comic off. Or something.

Anyway. I'm going to pimp him out. Go here to vote for him. If you want to see all his work his website is 50footrobot.com His comic that's up for voting is Hulk vs Bizzaro. Yeah, I don't get all the comic geeky references, but it's funny none the less. Also, I think you have to register to vote. Could you take 10 seconds and do that?

Thank you all.

Next time there will be knitting.

Sunday, May 20

7 days of knitting

And one skein of Knitpicks essential and this is what I have.

The cuff to Rhiannon.

Dude. I hope I got enough yarn! :)

This has been the only thing I've knit on all week.

Friday, May 18

Dude!

I just got some vespar yarn.

Stumbled right over in and it fell into my cart.

Whoa.

New Swag!

And for once it's not yarn!

The lovely Splatgirl agreed to make collars for my doggies.

Here's Cleo, all tired out from the walk.

And the little man. Who is never tired after a walk.

She does some pretty sweet work folks! Go buy something from here. Do it!

Sunday, May 13

The Dog ate my Breakfeast.

Well, yesterday he did. He jumped on the island and ate my yogurt and granola. Boo!

Yesterday I cleaned the house from top to bottom. So you know what that means? Guiltless knitting all day! :D Woo! I think I'm going to cast on some socks. Since I got the rest of my radio yarn in the mail. I got knitpicks sock yarn, in black, purple and blue. The purple will be Millicent and the black, Rhiannon. I think I'm going to cast on for Rhiannon. That's calling my name right now.

We're going out to eat today with the whole family ( his side and mine) for Mother's day to Coyote Moon today. Never heard of it until last week, but the food is supposed to be good. So here's hoping.

Other then that, it's a slacker day. I think I'm going to hop into the shower and then get comfy on the couch and knit.

Sunday, May 6

Free Yarn!

remember that 100 bucks I won on the radio? Here's some of the yarn I got. :)

After looking at my stash, I've decide that I don't have enough solid sock yarn. So, I only bought solid sock yarn. I think I'm addicted to sock yarn. But that's okay. I can handle that.

It was my friend Jenny's birthday yesterday. I got her sock yarn and the promise to help he knit socks. I'm tying to hook her too. :)

Also, saw the weirdest thing last night. Some emo highschool kids went into Perkins, sat themselves at a table and started to EAT the FOOD that was left there by the previous customers. When they got kicked out, they(the kids) were rude about it. Saying they should have been told they could not do this.

Um... isn't that what your mother is for? Seriously.

Monday, April 30

Umm... Thank you?

Thank you to whoever mowed my lawn while my Hubby and I were at work. That's super keen. I think. Weird...yes. But Super Keen. Who are you? I'd like to thank you and apologize if you stepped in any dog poop.

Sunday, April 22

clever. witty. me? Nah.

I think I need to knit more.

Seriously. I've been hopping blogs, and see this super cute finished item.. and think... "hey! I want one" Then... "hey, didn't I start swatching for that? Don't I have all the yarn I need and even that pattern? what gives?"

Yeah. I finished the left front of the Sweater I'm working on. I just had no interest in casting on yet. So. I knit on my pink and yellow socks. Which is good, as I turned the heel and and am cruising down the foot now. But still. I want my sweater finished! I want to were my Argyle vest!

I think I may have to drag that out and finish swatching for it. There's no way I'm heading blindly into that one.

I do have an urge to cast on for something. But I want to cast on for some new socks. And I've already got 2 going. So there's no reason to cast on another one. Really. No reason at all.

I think I'm going to finish cleaning the kitchen then drag out my swatches.

good knitter.

Saturday, April 21

Knitting. Actual knitting!

I started to carry around a sock in my purse. You know. For knitting. That way when I'm stuck at the doctors office or on my lunch break, I can knit a row or two.

Here it is so far. It's Lorna's Laces in Sassy Stripe. I'm using the yarrow rib pattern from Knitting vintage socks.

My Niece came for a visit, and she was wearing the little green sweater I knit for her. Funny enough, my dog was wearing a little green sweater I knit for him. Same color green, different yarn. Her- cascade 220, him- chunky wool-ease.

Friday, April 20

Am I too young to let my hair go grey?

Really. Am I?

Because I think, Screw it. I'll go grey. But then I think... crap! I'm only 29! I'll look older then my husband!

I won 100 bucks on Tuesday. I rock.

Can I get a maid for that?

The doctor upped my meds. I start 100 mg of clomid tomorrow. Woo. I hope I don't cry.

I almost paper cut my finger off today at works. It still hurts and sucks to type.

I think I want to chop my hair short.

I'm going to pour myself a glass of wine and knit now. For real-ies.

Sunday, April 15

Big Brother is watchinhg....

my dogs.

I took them to the vet yesterday to get them chipped. Haha! Now they can't run away. :)

We also did some yard work/cleaning of the garage since it was nice out. We're planning on some landscaping this year, and I've been having some fun googling plants and trees.

The knitting front has been quite. A row on a sock here, a row on the sweater there. So nothing really exciting to report. I did order some book the other day from Amazon.com. I think I got 2 sock books and a baby knitting book. I don't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

I have a huge urge to go spend some money at Knitpicks. I like a few of their new patterns. But of course you have to spend 45 to get the free shipping... and do I really need more yarn right now? I have to finish something before I get more yarn! I want to get started on those felted Xmas stocking, but I gave my Mother the needles for her to use. So, of course, like every project I start, I need to go buy needles. Maybe I should get needles from Knitpicks...hmm... there's a thought...

Saturday, April 14

This just makes me sick.

The world is a unfair, fucked up place. You want proof? Last week a 17 year old girl gave birth and then stabbed her baby to death. Not once, or twice... but 135 fucking times!

What is wrong with people? I heard this on the news last night and I actually cried. To make matters worse, MN has a Safe Place for Newborns law. You give birth, don't want the baby, drop it off at a hospital w/in 72 hrs. No questions asked.

Why aren't they fucking teaching THAT in health classes? Huh??? why??

Saturday, April 7

In which we find out I dont' have a title...

There has been knitting at my house. Not finishing, but knitting. Wait, I lied. I did finish a pair of baby socks for a girl at work. But really... baby socks? That's a small thing.

I've got the back of a sweater completed, and I'm working on the left front now. It's a fast-ish knit because I'm using size 11 needles and lambs pride bulky. I love lambs pride. I thin I am a lambs pride kind of girl.

Other then that, nothing exciting going on here. Heading to the gallery to meet some artist and close up shop. So. I'm going to have some yarn for sale. Yarn pirate and Scouts swag. Thinking about posting it on etsy. Thoughts?

Sunday, April 1

Flashing my stash.

Well, since everyone is doing it... why not? :D

This is most of my stash. The rest is still in the craft room. There is some random yarn in my craft room. And 2 totes of charity knitting yarn. That's a cloths basket full of acrylic. It's for babies, and toys and hopefully one day, blankets for homeless puppies and kitties. And this is a tub of cotton yarn. Cheap stuff. For dish clothes and charity knitting. Again.

Random bag of yarn. Bought to make my Niece a blanket. Other stuff tossed in to keep away from the dog.
On the left, that's a bag of wool ease. It's going to be dog sweaters someday. The cone is sock yarn I got on ebay.
Wool odds and ends. There's some lambs pride, and hand dyed. And SP yarn in there.

Bag of Mohair from a swap.

Box of leftovers. This is stuff that's stashed in my bed stairs.
More cotton for a baby blanket. And Wool for some mittens I never got to. And more baby acrylic. Here's the bottom stair. It's a blurry picture, but it's Knit Picks WOTA for a shrug that I've frogged 4 times.

So. That's all the yarn from my hiding places. Now I'll break down the tubs and bags of yarn.

From left to right. Lambs pride Bulky. I just got that last week, and I'm working on a sweater. The next is Knit Pick WOTA. It's going to be a shrug. Then KP Merino and Serra. Going to be baby sweaters.

The Blue on the left is Baby Ull. It's for that set I've been working on. I have the booties and hat to make. The purple is from a swap. Knit picks Shine. I think I want to make a little baby shrug from One skein. The Lambs pride is for Eunny's Vest. I'm working on swatching it.

Box of cascade 220. I got 15 skeins for felted xmas stockings. that just came in the mail last week.

Box of lace weight. I think it's all Knitpicks.

The blue is going to be a sweater for me. The pink is for a baby sweater for my niece and the green is left over from a sweater for here. Also in that box.

Cotton fleece. For a sweater I'm working on right now.

Next box, from bottom up is...
Jameson & Smith for vest for me.
Cascade 220 heather for a sweater for me.

And shine sport for a Hush-hush. For me.

Next box...
20 skeins of WOTA for a sweater for my brother. Firecracker Heater.

And more WOTA for a sweater I'm working on for Cleo.

Next box....
10 skeins of Jaeger. Bought off ebay for a steal. I hove no idea what to do with it.

And finally, my sock yarn box.

Knitpicks, Lorna Laces, Vesper, My hand dyed, Bernat hot socks, Patons, Yarntinit, Yarn Pirate, Scout's Swag,
And bought yesterday, some Toofutsies.

Whew!

Saturday, March 24

I'm not dead yet....

But I do feel mostly dead.

After an evening not well spent, which is too icky to post about and after making my husband promise that if I died he'd A) take care of the Dogs and B) not re-marry for one year, I got an appointment for noon today. Turns out, I'm a special kind of lucky. I have the flu ON TOP of a kidney infection. Super keen.

So after a massive shot in the ass of antibiotics, some Tylenol-3 (with codin), anti-nausea meds, and more antibiotics, I am finally able to eat something, just now, pain free.

Now, I think I'm going back to bed.

Friday, March 23

Dude.

I totally got myself super sick this time. :P

Tue I discovered I had a bladder infection. So after work I went to urgent care, got my pills, and thought all was to be well. Thursday morning, it STILL hurts to pee. And, now, my lower back is killing me. And, I'm starting o get chills/sweats. So I go to the doctor again. She switches my pills, and tells me if I get a fever of 1oo degrees, I need to come back. That I should be feeling better by today.

Today I am home sick for work. For it feels like someone punched my in the kidneys. Ow. I'm even too sick to knit. (horror!) All day, home. No knitting.

This sucks.

Dogs in Sunbeams!

Saturday, March 17

Spring=Mud

Mud = Boots.

My new boots?

How freaking sweet is that? I'm totally going to wear them everywhere. EVERYWHERE!! You hear me?

I started a new sock the other night. It's pink and yellow. Lorna's Laces I got from a super swap pal. :)

Remember this?
Well I finished it Thursday Night.

But I don't think it's going to work out quite as well as last time. So. On to the matching socks? Or a hat?

Monday, March 12

Oh how I hate you, Daylight Saving Time

And other such Nonsense.

Also, this could be titled "things my dog ate"

And by "ate" I mean that he has shredded them, or torn them apart, or unravelled them. Hopefully Not consumed too much of them.

18 rolls of toilet paper.
2 slices of pizza (those were actually eaten)
a kneadable eraser
a makeup sponge
Yarn. sweet sweet yarn. at least 4 skeins
8 buns. (again, eaten)
Kleenexes
A couple lame magazines
Some hen and chicks (plant...not fowl)
Wooden knitting needles
my knitting
the garbage

you know... I think I'm forgetting something...

Anyway. Knitting has happened. I made a puppy pi over the weekend. Its' super cute and I can't wait to toss Siris in it. I fear he may eat it.

I also am very close to finishing the little dress that goes with the conception sweater. Hopefully I will finish that tonight. I just have to knit the arm and neck edging, and sew 2 buttons on it.

Tuesday, March 6

Dogs in Sweaters

Well, this is the best pic I could get of Siris' sweater, which totally doesn't show the cables. But try to tel him that. :)

Also, a teaser for Cpurl.

As I was taking a picture, he had to stick his head in, and try to take the socks.

Well, that's all I got. I'm feeling icky today, so I'm off to get a heating pad and the TV remote. I thin it's a pizza for supper type of night. :)

Friday, March 2

Hubby's Uncle just came and plowed us out. Hooray! I think.... I guess that means I have to go to work on Monday. ;)

And today, I finished another dog sweater.

I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Snow Update

Today, the dog won't even go outside. there's too much snow. It's almost 10 am and she won't go out to go potty. Crazy Dog.

I get to stay home, on account on the fact that it woud take me 3 years to shovel out my driveway. So, I'm going to get a bunch of housework done, and the watch bad day time television.

Ahh... I love snow days.

Thursday, March 1

Snow! More Snow!

That's the view off of my deck. Lots of snowy goodness. And more to come.

And I'm totally prepared. Last night I picked up two bottles of wine. :D

They let me go home early from work, so I've changed into my jammies, and I"m going to go sit in front of the tv and veg out one bad day time tv. I can't wait. :)

Tuesday, February 27

WoOt!

This is what I did when I got my Package from the Lovely Cpurl17

Well, maybe I didn't jump THAT high... but still.

And you would too, if you got the socks I did.

Seriously. It's like she climbed into my head, and pulled out all the fluff, and made the most perfect socks for me.

And, there was chocolate scent body wash (which I used last night... love it!) and Candy! And pink and brown yarn! Soooo soft.

Thank you so much! I love them. Seriously. I really do.

Monday, February 26

Woo hoo!

I just got the best package ever. EVER!

Socks, candy, yarn Oh my!

But the batteries are dead. So I will show you tomorrow. I promise.

Thank you Cpurl17. I love them. You are too good to me!

Saturday, February 24

I'm totally all about cables suddenly. It's like.. all these years of being scared of them, I've secretly been wishing I was knitting them. And now... boom! Cables. All the time. On the brain.

I want to make this sweater so badly. I just need a baby to fill it, since it appears that my brother is turning down my offer to knit for his baby. Freak. I told him to pick a color, I'm ordering yarn. Today. That was at 9 am. Did he get back to me? NOOOooooO! So, Should I pick out my own color, or say screw it, and knit one as a conception sweater part 2? I'm leaning to the second option. Crap! It appears that knitpicks has lost my account. Bastards. I hate hate hate filling in order cart info. They said they have no record of my email address. And this stupid fucking keyboard won't work! It loses like... every third letter. Hate it!

I'm filled with anger tonight. Anger and cables.

Ha. I ordered some for me. ME! I got some lovely purple yarn. You can't go wrong with purple.

Off to knit more on my Zen Socks. ;)

yes! Snow!

Snow means I can sit inside and knit. That I don't have to feel guilty about it. Guilty that I should be vacuuming because hey, it's snowing out!

I finished a sweater for Siris. It's cabled even! (go me!)

Yeah, well, You can't see the sweater too well. But aren't they too freaking cute?

Yes. Yes they are.

I am going to finish my sock pal sock this weekend if it kills me. I finally finished turning the heel, and I"m on to decreasing gusset for the foot. Very Nice. CPURL17 you WILL have a pair of socks! I promise. :) I got dumped on once in a swap, and I totally would never do that to anyone. Guilt knitting! Well, it's really not that bad. I just hate knitting the hell flap. Once I turn it, I'm good to go.

I just wish I could be watching a nice movie on TV, instead of the nephews playing video games. Oh sweet Jesus! It's repetitive.
