Today I got my hair did, laid around, ate a huge meal with some good friends and drank some martinis, ate cake, and now am on my couch watching Dexter. It's a good day.

Quilts!

So, last night I sewed up a quilt top. Now I understand the draw of charm packs. Seriously. Amazing fast. This is the Dream On charm pack that I won this summer in the Hex A Long. I added some Kona snow and done! I think it's a perfect crib quilt size. Now I just have to find a backing and decide what color to bind it with.

I also finally finished my Monster Quilt.

Check out those lines! I did just a simple straight line quilting along the borders, so that at the corners they make a checkerboard pattern.

So fun. Seriously. I love this.

In the center I quilted 5 free form wonky stars. I think it was just right. It doesn't take away from the monsters, but still looks great.

Overall I'm super happy with how this turned out. It's up in my shop if you're needing a quilt.

October

October has always been a favorite month for me. It's my birthday month. Fall. Sweater weather, hand knit socks. Snuggling under a blanket. Also, I started my blog in Oct. This October marks my 33rd birthday, and my blogs 5th. Wow! Holy crappers!

I picked Flying Purple People Eater for 2 reasons, I love the name and, well, I love the name. :)
