Lucky Husband!

So this is what I've done with my day off. I dyed some yarn that will become a pair of socks for my hubby. He's so lucky. :) Well, he's pretty cool. That's why he gets some socks. I was invisoning a progession of blues. I used robins eggs and colbalt. When that didn't look right, I mixed up some more cobalt and added a touch of black and overdyed some of the robins egg blue, as that was really too light. Now I think I may have covered too much of the light blue, but whatever. He's more into dark subtle colors anyway. I tried really hard to make something he'd like, because if it was for me, I'd have tossed some lime green or orange into the mix. :D

Mission accomplished

I ran to target, got a card, and sent my secret pal it. Yeah!
So. That's done. Now what do I do with the rest of my day?

Last night I finally picked up my "Knitting without Tears" book By Elizabeth Zimmerman. Man, she's a hoot! I was trying to figure out why I had to do a cable cast on. She explained the reason why in that book. I can't believe I've had it for well over a year and never read it before. I've flipped through and looked at the pictures (all eight of them) but that's it. I think I'm going to have to sit down and read it.

Oh! And I learned that the way I knit (left handed) is supposed to be the fastest. Why am I not finishing things faster then? Huh? Explain that to me!

Okay. Enough babble. I'm off to hopefully finish my cleaves. I've got about 3 inches left on the sleeve, and then the ribbing and I'm done!

shopping? anyone?

Damn! Why couldn't I have spent my birthday money on more books? What was I thinking buying yarn? :D
I want Adrienne Vittedini books! Fall 2004, and 2005 and Spring 2005. I also want several Debbie Bliss books. I love the cover on this book, (and the green sweater inside) this one is also lovely. and a few more I like in this one. Can't they just make one book, with all the patterns I like in one? pretty please? :D

I really want to hit Yarnzilla's sale next Saturday. But I must pay off the credit cards first. poop. I just wish I'd start on the floor cutting hair this week. Then I'd have tip money to spend on yarn. ;) Oh well. I've set aside 50 dollars. Hopefully that will be enough.

Off to knit! I will finish my sleeve on my cleaves today.

I knit, therefore I am

ooo!
Holiday Swap went out on the Knitty board. I am a NERD! I'm making a shopping list for my swap pal. :D I'm going shopping and then planning out when to send stuff off.

Birthday Yarn!

Woo! It's here! The yarn that I ordered from Knit picks came today. I'm so happy! The yarn on the bottom is Andrea Treasure in wild rose. That's for the Lucky sweater in Stitch n Bitch Nation. The middle is Alpaca cloud in Peppermint, for a shwal from Folk Shawls. And the top is their sock yarn, in Snapdragon. And those are for socks, fo me! All for me! mwhahahahhaaa!
Hey. Your birthday comes only once a yarn. You should spoil yourself right?

I just don't know when I suddenly became such a pink girl. :)

Knitting! yeah!

I started my Cleaves yesterday. I'm using Lotus pink in Lambs pride bulky. I love this yarn. LOVE IT. I think I shall only use this form now on. That's how much I love it. :D

I've got too many projects in the works. I wanted to finish at least one more thing before I cast this on, but I couldn't wait any longer. :)

I did finish another baby hat for our friends who will be popping soon. It's the cutset thing ever.

I've also mostly finished one doggie coat for JellyBean's pups. I just have to finish the belly band, and make another one. Then of course I have 2 sweaters for myself to finish, not counting the cleaves. But, I also did finish those sock for my MIL. But now I want to make socks for my Mom and my hubby. But I'm not sure what I want to get for him. I have this stuff to dye on hand. I think he may like that. Then again, he may not care if it was hand dyed and knitted. I just don't know. But I really should be knitting. I want my cleaves!

look at me! I'm a lemming!

So. I'm a lemming. I'm following this crowd off the nearest cliff.

I know have a spot to show off my knitting.
Go me.
