Now the baby can come.

Why do I only have 3.75 hats finished? Because I was finishing this bag for my friend Tonia. She's having a baby any day now, and needs a cool diaper bag. Not a ugly plastic Poo on. No. A cute knitted one.
So I finished it last night. As you can tell by the lack of proper lighting. The shower is today, in about 45 minutes. I've wrapped it up and am just going to get socks, then I'm on my way. I can't believe I did it. Now, I must get off my butt and knit more hats! Holy carp! Only 5 days left! (yes. I did mean holy carp. It's funnier that way.)

Saturday, February 11

woo!

One baby hat down. Seven to go.

Small setback with an I-cord, but I'm overcome that hurdle and am pressing on. I don't think I'll have any chance to knit today at work, wich makes me sad, but I do get off at 5pm, with no plans for the evening, so hopefully I can get half a hat done tonight.

Thursday, February 9

Dyeing is fun.

Well. It is.

Today I dyed up some wool from a sweater I recycled awhile back when I was sick. I figured I was too ill to knit, but I could frog just fine.

These first three skeins I dyed in shades of pink. I think they turned out lovely.

These next three are even better. I mixed only 1 scoop of color of black, yellow and purple. I love how they turned out. Totally unexpected.

I just love how the purple is really a bright pink, and the black isn't harsh at all, the the yellow is bright and mixes so well. It was a pleasent surprise. I like playing with the mixes and getting something totally unknown.

I'm going to hunt down some yarn and a couple baby hat patterns and toss them into my lunch bag. If I plan it right I can take a late lunch and start casting on at 2pm. That's the offical start time of the Knitting Olympics. Go me!

I'll try and post some pics of my progress. Or, if I can't take the time away from knitting, of my finished hats. :)

Wednesday, February 8

Before I forget...

My goal for the knitting olympics is to make 8 baby hats. Ta-da! Not very exciting I know. But I knit slow. So my goal is to be able to make 8 in a span of 16 days. I can do it. And, I will use up stash yarn... yeah!

First finished project of 2006

So what if they're just a pair of mittens? You got a problem with that buddy? No. I didn't think so.

They're made out of Noro, from a mitten pattern I found in a magizine. They're for the Mitten Swap on Knitty.

I want to keep them! They're so pretty. I'm going to try to send them out today. If not, for sure tommorrow. I can't wait to see what come in my mailbox in return.

Sunday, January 22

A challange!

I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but I'll let you know! Info over at Yarn Harlot. I was thinking of doing somthing for charity. Like Hats or booties or blankets for project snuggle. I have to think and check the stash.

Sunday, January 1

Cute, or ugly?

I can't decide! I think it might be cute, not on that model and not in that color... But I'm not sure!
I want to find something to make my Rowan cork into, but I'm scared of hating it and frogging it. I'm sick of frogging things! It seems like lately all I've been doing is frogging.

I need to take some pics. I lent out my digital to my SIL. And now I have things I want to take pics of. :(

Hubby's socks are going along well, I've started the heel. My super secret new project is going well. I just have to keep plugging away at it. :)

I ran in to a snag on Lucky. But I'm just putting my head down and pushing on. I think the sleeve is going to be way to fat. But I made up the smallest size. We'll see how it goes. Maybe blocking will fix it. Blocking fixes everything right? right??

Okay. I'm off to knit some more. On what I"m not sure. But I better finish something soon. I'm running out of needles to start new projects on. :D

Wednesday, December 28

Busy bee

So I've been home sick today, and since I don't have enough projects going (yeah right) I started a new one. I cast on "Lucky" from Stitch and Bitch nation. I'm trying out a new trick I learned... cast on the sleeves first. I've already frogged it once, because I wasn't counting right and was off a row. But, I'm making progress now. I'm using Knit Picks Andean Treasure in Wild Rose. Oh my god, I love it. It's so soft. Like butter. In a good way.

That is all. Must get back to knitting.

Wednesday, December 14

Bad! No more yarn!

After seeing this yarn in the store for 11.50 a skein, I finally broke down and bought some. Eee! Now what am I going to do with 10 balls of yarn?
I might make a sweater. Do I have enough for a sweater? hmm... a vest? I like vests.

The knitting is going along.... slow. I had to frog the back of my Shimmer that I was working on, because I screwed up the decrease, and I wasn't happy with a couple of the little holes. They were... off. So, being OCD I had to fix it. :P

Now I must got finish a few things before work.

Hopefully I won't buy anymore yarn....

Sunday, December 4

argh!

I'm having no luck finishing things.

I made my Dad a hat for hunting. In orange and black. I thought it would work. Um... no. It barely fits me! Now the decision, to frog or not to frog. I could see if the nephew would wear it.

I just don't know. It's lambs pride, so I don't want to just toss it. Maybe I'll frog it and try a different hat.

Sunday, November 20

Rip it. Rip it good.

So, after staring at my Cleaves, and trying it on again, I decided I don't like it. Never will. So I frogged it. And, in frogging, I found out how I twisted my stitches. As I was ripping along, all of a sudden my yarn turned from counterclockwise to clockwise. So. I think that's how I messed up. So Nic won't be able to help me fix it. But she can still help me on my new one. ;)

I knitted on my cobweb, and on my shrug that I put aside. I couldn't do 4 rows of the cobweb, but I think I got 2 repeats done on my shrug. I'm going to go work on that some more. At least I can see process on that one. :)

Thursday, November 17

I've decided.

The blue is going to be a scarf. As is the purple cascade.

The Knitpicks palette is going to be for my fair isle socks, and my fair isle vest I will make.

That is all. :D

Wednesday, November 16

wooo! holiday loot!

My secrete pal rocks my socks with candy tarts!

I got goodies today. Yeah! Theres 4 balls of knit pick palette, and some lovely tidal pool colored alpaca, and some cascade... and candy! And the little box of scarves, and stitch markers

ooo... pretty... and AND theres more! Fun target yarn and...

A present for my puppy! She had to open it right away. My secret pal rocks my socks. I love her. :)

Pretty LIttle Pixie

So. I don't take pictures early in the moring. So I got my little pixie to model my Pixie hat.
Isn't that the cutest picture ever? Well. It is. I say so.
I used Jiffy yarn. Because it was a dollar. And I need to wash it. And It's the only stuff I could find that matched some fuzz. But then I ended up not using the fuzz. Oh well. I have plenty of baby pink fuzz now.

I must say. I do look cute in the hat. And I'm wearing it everywhere this winter. Even if I embarrass my husband. But he did say I looked cute in it. hehhe... I love silly hats.

Monday, November 14

I did something!

I made myself a hat.

I shall post pics later after I have cleaned my house. :)

It's a very pretty pink hat.

What else would you expect from me!

Thursday, November 10

So I tried to knit on some things, but I'm just not in the mood. I want to start something new. But I have no idea what. I think I'm just various knids of bored with what I have going now. My lace shawl is killing me. I only have 5 rows done. And this is just the garter stitch part. :S yikes. I think I need to get a new row counter. That way I can have one for my sweater, and one for my lace project, and I shall not forget where I am.

Other then my hubby's socks and a xmas present and a few abonded scarves, I really have nothing exciting going on. Which is sad, because I have some lovely yarn sitting waiting to be a sweater (well, two piles of lovely yarn, waiting to be two sweaters, but who's counting.)

Ah well, maybe after my bath I'll be more inclined to knit.

Tuesday, November 8

socks!

I strated my hubbys' socks last night. I think they're going to be super cool. :)

That is all.

Monday, November 7

My friends are better then your friends. :)

So I went to visit Nic on thursday, and she took me yarn shopping. And she bought me presesnts and promised to help me knit. She's the bestest. :D She got me Adrienne Vittedini Fall 2004.So I can knit the sweater on the cover of the book. And I got enough yarn to make it. :) I'm so very excited.

This weekend I started a couple projects. I stareted working on a scarf for a xmas gift, and my shawl. I really should finish up the doggie sweater and one of my sweaters, but what the hell. I like having options when I sit down to knit.

Now I'm off to go buy my secrete pal a couple presents for this week, and some new shoes, because the niece ate my work shoes. Bad dog.

Thursday, November 3

I'm done! And Disappoted! :(

Finished my Cleaves last night. I'm just not happy. :( There's a weird jig in the ribbing pattern, I think I may have to rip out and redo. And I think I need to make the ribbing longer too, it sits weird at the nipple level. :P

Here's a close up of the weird jig. I don't know what happened. I just noticed it last night when I finished binding it off. :p Maybe since I've visiting Nic today, she'll have and idea. I almost think it got a little tight there.... I don't know. I'm so bummed out! Anyway. I used lambs pride bluky in Lotus Pink. I love the yarn and I love the color and I still love the pattern. I just don't love mine.

I am yarn. Yarn I am.

You are Mohair
You are Mohair.
You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely
refuse to change your position once it is set,
but that's okay since you are good at covering
up your mistakes.

What kind of yarn are you?
